We hope our friends are ready for another round of delicious treats and radical fundraising with Wake & Bake! Since the crew started this monthly collective “rage baking” project in June, we have raised over $2,700 for orgs in support of Black Lives Matter, including The Okra Project, House of Rebirth, and Black Youth Project 100 (BYP100) (check them all out! donate! support!).

This month we are especially enraged at the rampant abuse of uterus-having people at the hands of our unthinkably corrupt government, so we’re pouring that rage into making treats in support of two badass reproductive rights orgs who help historically underserved people and communities gain access to important healthcare services:

The Afiya Center’s mission is to serve Black women and girls by transforming their relationship with their sexual and reproductive health through addressing the consequences of reproduction oppression.

The TEA Fund is one of our most favorite orgs ever. They provide financial assistance to people who need help paying for an abortion in northern Texas and believe abortion should be safe, legal, and accessible to all who need it. They also a ton of work to end abortion stigma and advocate for policies that expand abortion access!!

With the help of our fantastic friends baking across the city, we will be putting together another delicious box of surprise treats*! For $25 (we are only accepting PayPal through the link at this time) you will get a delicious assortment of baked goods made by local artisans and the knowledge that your hard earned dollars will be supporting good causes. The boxes will be available for local pickup** on Saturday, September 26 at Spiderweb HQ from 10-noon. (Once your order is complete, we will email you with details on pickup location.)

*Please note that each box contains assorted desserts that will contain gluten, eggs, and dairy
