Oh hi! Just your friendly spidercrew here, waving a quick hello and letting you know what we’ve been up to! BEWARE: here you will find many decent reasons to leave the house in the coming weeks...it's cold, we know, but look at all the cool stuff going on:

ZINE RELEASE: LOW POWER RADIO

It’s alive! It’s created and printed and folded and sewed and ready to meet the world! It’s our new zine, LOW POWER RADIO, a 28-page zine collab between local artists, poets, friends, radio DJs, & KUZU 92.9 fans. Get your copy this weekend while you can at —you guessed it— our winter formal. If there's any left, we'll let you know, but your best bet is to get your copy the night of the 20th!

Create With Us: New Workshops!

Drumroll please! For this February shall mark the beginning of our monthly happy hour art workshops! Our first trick: on February 25 from 4-6pm, join us for a watercolor workshop with local artist & signpainter Matthew Long, at Dan’s Silverleaf. These workshops will always be free for our Patreon artists+, or in this case just $5 if you bring your own paints or $10 to use ours. (Want to teach or host a workshop? Let's talk!) See you there!

In truth, our workshops tend to be more play than work. We had one yesterday where we learned about beermaking with spiderweb brewmaster, Chris Flesher, plus kombucha, kimchi, and shrub demonstrations and tastings. We discussed everything related to culinary fermentation, and the beer we made will be ready just in time for our secret Valentine's Day showcase.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:

we launched our new feature series this past week: it’s another exciting way that we will be celebrating local artists, writers, and creators with you this year! our team is proud to share this wonderful work by our first features, Marie DeNoon and Alex Stock, both of who you can also catch at our formal this weekend.

Show Us Some Love?

Spiderweb Salon Loves You! That's the name of our next big wonderful showcase that we'd love to invite you to... the only catch is that due to capacity limits, we can really only invite our artists & patreon supporters to our private showcases. But don't fret, if you'd like to come, you can make a pledge to our little art collective on Patreon before Jan 31 and receive a personal snail-mail invitation the next week. How cool is that?! If you've been putting off becoming a patron, now is a great time to take the plunge. We'll be able to do so many beautiful things together!

BONUS: when we reach 45 patrons, we'll put our next big themed showcase to a public vote... ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

Okay! Good work team. Keep creating. Create together. Be kind.

And with any luck, we'll see you this weekend!

xoxo
