We are excited to start our weekly features up with long-time Spiderweb friend, Marie DeNoon. You can read Marie’s poem, “soft pink for bitches,” below, and then catch her reading at the Spiderweb Salon’s 2018 Winter Formal. We recommend you read this poem aloud!
soft pink for bitches
soft pink snap backs
bring her
poxed-face
sunken
cheeked
bleek back.
One had you droppin’ your babies next door
1,2,3 weeks more
for skitzen mami’s
& late nite zombies
eatin’ flesh from they own bodies
soft pink snap backs
bring that
dark demon look back.
check this soft pink tee
held here in front o me
watch all my lucious brown
drain down
to rotten
teeth memories
colored cotton candy pink n poverty
every year
more & more
soft pink tryin’ to make
they brown disappear
every year
here
more & more
they brown disappear
soft pink for bitches.
