Ever wanted a typewriter to call your very own?! Have a typewriter but not sure how to use or maintain it? Love writing letters, but who has the time? Never used a typewriter and/or written a letter before, but totally intrigued? GOOD!
Join Spiderweb Salon's co-founder courtney marie and Typewriter Justice at this lovely come-and-go, all-ages workshop where you can try out different machines, learn a thing or two about typers, write and send a letter to a friend, and maybe even leave with a typewriter of your own AND the knowledge to use it!
we will provide letter writing supplies: paper, pens, typers, assorted art supplies, postcards, envelopes, and stamps!
WHAT TO BRING:
--the address of a loved one
--a spirit of curiosity and creativity
--$$? this is a FREE workshop, but if you'd like to purchase a typewriter from Typewriter Justice, most will be priced very reasonably in the range of $50-150 per typewriter (a portion of the proceeds will go to Spiderweb Salon!)- fresh ribbons will also be for sale!

courtney marie is a writer and artist based in denton, texas who enjoys working with text as an art medium and performance object. she is the author of don’t get your hopes up (thoughtcrime press, 2018) and a forthcoming full-length collection of poetry from Goliad Media. she is the co-founder and director of local creative collective spiderweb salon. she writes a lot of letters.
